Description
Take anger, for example. It’s a signal that something feels unfair or out of control. But yelling, blaming, or shutting down rarely helps. Emotionally intelligent people learn to respond, not react. They might say,
“I need a moment to cool down before we continue,
” rather than unleashing words they’ll later regret.
The same goes for fear. Fear can paralyze us before public speaking, trying something
new, or facing a problem. But instead of avoiding the fear, emotionally intelligent
individuals explore it. They ask,
“What am I really afraid of?” and then challenge the
thoughts behind the feeling.
